SUMMARY:Somatic Inquiry and Drum Circle in Nature
DESCRIPTION:Somatic Inquiry and Drum Circle in Nature\nA journey of embodiment\, release\, connection\, and rhythm. \nYou’re welcome to come and join us as we step away from the demands of everyday life and into the healing embrace of nature. Join us for a unique experience that combines the transformative practices of Somatic Enquiry with the ancient medicine of the drum\, creating space to reconnect with your body\, your nervous system\, and the natural world around you. \nThis is a welcoming gathering for both men and women\, whether you are completely new to somatic practices and drumming or have practised either before – you’re welcome. \nWhat is Somatic Inquiry?\nOur bodies hold the stories of our lives. Stress\, trauma\, overwhelm\, and the pressures of modern living can become stored in our nervous system\, often leaving us feeling disconnected from ourselves or others\, tired\, emotional\, or struggling to cope with the ebb and flow of normal life. \nSomatic Inquiry offers an opportunity to gently explore what the body is holding through guided practices that cultivate awareness\, curiosity\, and compassion. Working with the body’s innate wisdom\, we create conditions that support regulation\, restoration\, and release – we invite in safety. \nDrawing on current understanding of the nervous system\, our sessions work with the vagus nerve and the body’s natural ability to move between states of activation and calm. Through breath\, movement\, grounding\, mindful awareness\, and gentle enquiry\, we invite the body to release held tension and stagnant energy\, helping us return to a place of balance and presence. \nThere is nothing to fix and nothing to force. You are invited to simply meet yourself as you are. \nThe Medicine of the Drum\nAfterwards\, with a deeper connection to self\, we gather together in a circle and community connection through rhythm. \nDrumming is one of humanity’s oldest forms of communication and community. Across cultures and throughout history\, the drum has been used to celebrate\, heal\, connect\, and bring people together. \nSurrounded by history and crumbling ruins\, bathing in the sounds of nature\, we allow the steady pulse of the drum to ground us in the present moment. The rhythm can help deepen our connection to ourselves\, each other\, and the living world around us. \nNo musical ability or previous experience is needed. The invitation is simply to play\, listen\, move\, and enjoy the experience. \nBring a drum if you have one\, or any musical instrument that calls to you. \nHeld in Nature\nNature itself is an integral part of this experience. \nThe changing seasons remind us that life moves in cycles\, that growth and rest both have their place\, and that we\, too\, belong to these natural rhythms. Practising outdoors allows us to reconnect with the earth beneath our feet\, the air in our lungs\, and the simple medicine of being present in the natural world. \nThroughout the session\, there will be opportunities for quiet reflection\, grounding\, and moments of stillness\, alongside movement\, expression\, and shared community. \nWhat to Expect\nEach gathering is unique but may include: \n🌿 Somatic Enquiry practices \n🌿 Nervous system regulation and vagus nerve stimulation \n🌿 Breathwork and grounding techniques \n🌿 Gentle movement and embodied awareness \n🌿 Guided meditation \n🌿 Energy release practices \n🌿 Reflection and optional journalling \n🌿 Connection with nature and the changing seasons \n🌿 Community sharing (always optional) \n🌿 A sacred drum circle in nature \n🌿 Embodied movement\, voice\, or song if the moment invites \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n We will be joining together in a ceremony honouring the healers\, midwives\, energy workers\, crones\, and sisters – the wise women\, tapping into their knowledge and wisdom which was/is passed down through generations.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What to Bring\nA drum or musical instrument\, if you have one. \nA yoga mat or blanket to sit or lie on. \nWater to stay hydrated. \nWeather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. \nAnything that helps you feel comfortable and connected to nature. \nAn open mind and a curious heart. \nWho is This For?\nThis gathering is for any sex seeking to: \n♡ Reduce stress and overwhelm. \n♡ Learn more about their nervous system. \n♡ Reconnect with their body. \n♡ Release stored tension and stagnant energy. \n♡ Experience the healing qualities of rhythm and nature. \n♡ Find community and authentic connection. \n♡ Spend intentional time outdoors. \nNo previous experience with somatics\, meditation\, or drumming is required. \nAn Invitation\nIn a world that asks us to do more\, achieve more\, and move faster\, this is an invitation to slow down. \n♡ To listen to your body. \n♡ To reconnect with the earth. \n♡ To feel the rhythm of the drum. \nTo remember that healing doesn’t always happen through words.
